Specialty hospitals

Specialty hospitals are hospitals that specialize in a particular medical field, such as cardiology, orthopedic surgery and rehabilitation. Specialty hospitals are often involved in cases of serious or highly unusual medical problems.

Some are considered centers of excellence in their particular field. Specialty hospitals, however, may lack may lack the facilities and staff to provide comprehensive care and generally, do not have an emergency room.
